OPI every month is Oktoberfest

Hey all,
So tonight I thought I would do a quick post about one of the 4 polishes I have from the OPI Germany line. I have this one and "Berlin there, done that" "Dont talk Bach to me" and "Deutsch you want me baby". I really wanted the purple and teal one but they didn't have them:( But the one that caught my eye the most is "Every month is Oktoberfest" AND my birthday  is October (26th one week away exactly) so I just thought I would add that in:) I would describe it as a really dark berry purple. It has a bit of shimmer to it as well. Perfect for Fall:)

So the first 4 are in the sun without a flash. I do like this color. I thought it would be more on the red side, like a dark wine but was pleased with this. I have 3 coats on and would suggest using that many. With 2 coats its was a bit streaky and uneven but the third coat made it just perfect:)

I added these 2with the flash and sunlight because it really shows the purple of it! 

 AND how shiny it is. This is before I put on a topcoat.

 And back to just sun light:)

 Not sure why the ring and pinky look rough near the end? It was not like that at all on my fingers...

 I just love the shine and sparkle of it and the hint of shimmer. Its not to shimmery. Still has a thickness to it, which I like. It glows in the middle of the nail and then the tips look almost dark! Am I the only one who sees that?

 Depending on the angle and light, you could argue that it is more red then purple or vice versa. In person, I see more purple then red.

So there you have it! If you need a great fall red/purple duochrome (kind of) for fall, I would strongly suggest this one! Do you guys have any from the Germany collection? Which ones? Which do you want?



And on another sad, sad note. I broke my camera:( Dropped it and it wont take pictures anymore:( But I was lucky in one way. For the first time since I can remember, I was able to use the one year warranty. I broke it this week (15) and warranty was good until the 31st!!! So, if I was going to break it glad I did when I did. No guarantee it will be fixed but I will know in 4-6 weeks. So until then, unless I borrow a camera from people every now and then I wont be able to take great and clear pictures:(  Luckily I did a bunch of swatches before I dropped it. But at this moment I tried my "Dont talk Bach to me" and put F4 polish "Splat" (which I wanted forever. Well I wanted a black and white bars) over it and topped it off with a matte top coat. Sadly, I had to go back to my web cam for pictures. So these wont be great but just to show what it looked like!

AHH!! I really wish I could have taken better pictures because it really looks good this combo!! Well I will have to do it again:) I had a hard time deciding what to put the "Splat" on top of but was happy with this. I almost put it over Essie's "watermelon". I have it on a nail wheel and it looks great! What combo's do you suggest wearing it with?? Sorry about these pictures guys and hope to get my camera back ASAP!!!

pams whimsical polishes "Suess"

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!

Ok, now that I got that out, hello again. I am excited because my polishes FINALLY CAME!!! I have been waiting 3 months for these babies! I had to go through a third party because Pam does not ship to Canada. SO an online friend let me pay her to make an order for me and then ship them to me. However, that was 3 months ago and I just got the yesterday. I was so happy to see them because I had pretty much came to terms with the fact that they were lost and I was not getting them. Not to sure if it was the post office or customs or what because I have never had something take this long but they are here so I am happy!! I got "suess" and "Hatched" but I only have "Suess" to show you guys today. I love and really wanted "Hatched" but I got "Soak of the sun" from 365 days of color since I thought I was not going to be getting "hatched" and they are very similar. I will be doing a comparison on the two soon. But since I had just worn "Soak up the sun" I had to try "Suess" first and that is the one that originally caught my eye:)

AS you can see, it is a gorgeous, dark blue, packed with red and silver hexes and blue glitter. Now, I may be biased because blue is my favourite color for everything but I think this polish is just BEAUTIFUL!!!! Look at it! its so fun. Not to mention how cute the bottles are:) but, I just LOVE this color!

AS I see many bloggers say about polish pictures, these do not do it justice. It is very bright and You can really see the glitter more then shown here.

For those of us who are into the whole "Jelly sammich" mani's this is a perfect Jelly in a bottle!

This polish really "POPS" in the sun, as you can see but here are some pics inside:)

 AH!! UGH!! how did I NOT notice that stain on my fingers??? Sorry guys, thought I had cleaned it up:( But you do see the glitter more in these pictures.

 ANd under a bright light. Way too bright actually.....

 OUCH!! hurts the eyes doesn't it?? But wanted to show you the blue! This is as close to the color it is:)

I think I said it best when I said "Jelly sammich" in a bottle because that is what it is. Its like that because I added 3 coats. AT first its not so much a jelly but after you add another coat, its sheer, so it goes over the first coat and glitter but you can still see it. It Changes the silver hexes to white almost but just gives it more color! Not to mention it is inspired by one of my favourite child authors EVER!! It does have a sort of kid and playful look/feel to it for me. Reminds me of "one fish, two fish (one coat two coat) red fish, blue fish (red glitter, blue glitter) hehehehe.....
The only problem was with the large hexes. They tend to stay towards the tip. So you do have to play around and place them where you want. Then add a final coat to get rid of any smudges from moving them around. Just takes a bit of patience and the right application. I totally recommend these polishes!! I cant wait to try out "Hatched". I know this is an older line (still available thought) and she has newer ones out now that are just as gorgeous! Sucks that she can't ship to Canada but a lot of indies are that way. Next time I do a swap with an american friend (Contact me any time if interested in swaps, we can talk:) I will ask them to place an order of more for me. Ebay polish soakers (polish remover)

Well today I just wanted to share with you quickly something I bought from ebay. I had seen a few girls talk about it and for the price, (was 3$ I think) decided to give it a try. IF you're like me and love glitter polish but hate removing it, you probably also always look for easier ways to remove it. Well, this is what these are supposed to do. Before I continue, this is what I am talking about..

SO, you get 10 of these little round things. They have a hole on top for you to place your finger inside of it. Well first, you need to fill it with polish remover.

Now, the first thing that crossed my mind, and I am sure you're thinking it also, is the amount of polish being used! It does take a lot. I filled them each to the top. I had to do a few twice because I was setting them up for the picture and they fell. They do have a little thing on the side though that makes them sit up as they are in this picture. Ok so, here is what I was wearing...

Left hand > 365 days of color "soak up the sun". Both glitter polishes with the "soak up the sun" being much thicker and therefore harder to remove.

SO I placed them on each finger. Meaning I put each finger into the little container thing, filled with remover and let it just soak  Kept it on for about 15 minutes before checking on it. I must say, especially the thumbs were uncomfortable because it cut off my circulation. My fingers were almost purple at the end.... Granted, as you can see, I do have chubby fingers.

and as I said, I soaked them for 15 mintues and when I removed them it looked like this....

SO as you can see, it is not all removed but it is wet and full of polish remover..

 So, I just took a cotton swab and rubbed the rest off. I did have to use more remover but took it out of the bottles.

So, pretty much, I would say its the equivalent of soaking your fingers in a little dish of remover. Supposed to be more convenient because you can walk around but they are not that convenient  About as much as walking around holding a dish as your fingers are soaking. It did not speed up any time because you do have to let them soak. You can, however, just sit back and watch tv (cant really do much else unless you're not using your hands) and it does take away the stress of sitting there and rubbing and screaming and my neighbours must think a drunken sailor is visiting when I am removing glitter polish because I get so frustrated!! But would I recommend these?? Probably not. I think the tin foil method is just as good and efficient. Since I onw them I probably will use them again but.... Also, as I said, it does take up a lot of remover. And someone told me that you can save it and reuse it but its all full of polish and glitter so I just threw it away. Once you're done, you just empty the remover  from them and  give them a rinse and that's that. I was hoping they would be a bit better and take everything off but, I should have known. So that leads me to my questions....

What do you guys think of these? Would you give them a try? What is you solution to removing glitter??? I really want to look into the glue thing.....
